Smith could offer no tangible explanation for the filly’s performance other than that the step up in distance may have had some bearing on its finishing effort. Trainer L. Birchley was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly for its poor performance. Mr Birchley advised that it would be his intention to now send the filly for a spell.
