Began awkwardly and lost some ground. Rider questioned re tactics - explained filly settled in a rearward position, which is consistent with normal racing pattern. After passing 500m when pace quickened filly was left flatfooted. In his opinion when pace quickened, racing between horses and not having a lot of room and today’s track conditions may have contributed to the filly hitting a flat spot and being unable to quicken between the 500m and 300m but finished well over final 200m. Explanation accepted.
