As the gelding had not raced for a significant period, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Commenced to weaken when placed under pressure after passing the 600m, and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer K. Gruenefeld advised that she will now give consideration to the horse’s racing future. Nevetherless, trainer K. Gruenefeld was advised that the gelding’s nomination at metropolitan meetings would be refused until such time as its form improves at provincial or country venues.
