As the gelding had not raced for over 12 months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Connections advised that it would be the intention to limit the use of the whip on the gelding. Tightened between runners leaving the 800m. Trainer G. Livermore was advised that the gelding, which performed poorly today, will be barred from TAB venues until such time as its form improves to a satisfactory standard.
