Had to be resaddled after arriving at the barriers. Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance Jockey J Byrne stated that he was instructed to ride the gelding conservately due to the rise in distance and small field. He further added that after passing the 1400m the gelding dropped the bit and failed to respond to his urgings and proved disappointing over the concluding stages. Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey R Stewart advised Stewards that mare raced in a more forward position today due to the step up in distance, and when placed under pressure failed to respond and proved disappointing and was beaten a considerable margin. Trainer’s representative M Sharpe gave an undertaking to advise Stewards in the subsequent days if anything came to light which may have had a bearing on its performance today.
