Raced three wide without cover throughout. When asked to comment on the performance rider S Cormack stated that he was unable to find a position with cover and that after traveling past the 900m was obliged to race in a three wide position. He added that when the pace quickened passing the 500m the gelding failed to improve when asked, however over the concluding stages finished the race off well. He further added that CHAPELCO has raced flat previously when second up from a spell and in his opinion may appreciate racing on a bigger track than that of today’s event.
