In the early stages raced keenly when wide and allowed to stride to take the lead passing the 1400m. Passing the 800m, laid out when commencing to weaken and was then eased down from 250m. On pulling up, rider J. Taylor was dislodged from the mare and suffered a harmless fall. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
