Began awkwardly and then failed to muster early speed. Jockey C. Bayliss reported at scale that after being slow into stride and due to the slow tempo in the early stages he allowed his mount to shift wider on the track and improve forward near the 1000m. He added that as a result he was obliged to raced wide for the remainder of the race and the gelding failed to finish the race off.
