A pre-race veterinary examination cleared the gelding to take its place in the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that it had a slight discharge from both nostrils, however no other abnormality. Nevertheless, trainer J. Pointon was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to EASY AS PYE being permitted to race again.
