Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Jockey reported that leaving 400 metres his mount laid in and commenced to yield ground. He said that the gelding had choked down and was restrained out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight lameness in the near hind. Connections explained that the horse had undergone a previous wind operation and may now be retired from racing. Nevertheless, stewards advised that should the gelding be returned to racing it will be required to barrier trial prior to its next start.
