A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had bled from the nearside nostril. Trainer W. Weeks was advised that the horse must gallop satisfactorily over 1000 metres before being permitted to race again. Mr Weeks informed stewards that he would recommend that it be retired from racing.
