Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, trainer J. Crane advised that its previous two starts had been over shorter distances in which it had back in the field on tighter tracks and had been unable to advance into the race. He believe the increase in distance today to 1200m had been beneficial to the horse.
