When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, apprentice L. Dodds stated that the increase in distance from its previous start and that it had not raced for 5 weeks had contributed to its performance. He added it had been under pressure on straightening and failed to respond. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

When questioned regarding the performance, jockey B. Pengelly stated that the horse had felt well, however had raced keenly in the early stages, and he commenced to place his mount under pressure near the 600m, however on straightening the horse failed to respond and proved disappointing. Jockey Pengelly stated that the horse may not have appreciated the firmer track surface. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
