When questioned regarding his riding over the concluding stages, jockey J. Grob stated that his mount began to weaken from the vicinity of the 200m and as such he elected to not ride his mount out over the concluding stages. Stewards advised jockey Grob that unless he has concerns with the actions of his mount, to continue to ride his mounts out for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
