Had to be checked near the 600m when tightened for room. After taking evidence from jockey B. Grylls, rider of DAM WONDERFUL, and riders involved in the incident, it was established that MAGNETTE shifted out slightly and LA DOICE VITA shifted in. Whilst stewards did not feel the incident could be attributed solely to the actions of jockey R. Fradd, rider of LA DOICE VITA, he was nevertheless advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Jumped away awkwardly and then bumped shortly after the start. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had sprung its near fore plate and had speedy cuts to its near hind leg. Trainer T. Sears indicated he would have his own veterinary surgeon perform tests on the horse and that he would report back any findings to the stewards. Mr Sears could find no abnormalites and he was subsequently advised that the horse must trial prior to next start.
