M. Cahill indicated that he was instructed to ride the horse in a forward position and the horse travelled comfortably in the lead, however was under pressure shortly after entering the home straight. Trainer L. Birchley indicated that in his opinion the horse may not have run out a strong 1600m and would now be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
