Rider advised that from the wide alley he had been instructed to ride the horse quietly to ensure a position closer to the fence. He said the horse had improved into the race rounding the home turn and after securing clear running in the home straight then had to alter course when another runner shifted in under pressure near the 100m. He said the horse finished the race off fairly and he would have preferred to settle the horse closer in the field had the horse drawn a better alley. Trainer reported that the horse made an abnormal respiratory sound after the event and will be retired.
