Sustained a laceration to the near hind leg in the tie-up stalls, inspected by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Bumped by another runner approaching the 400m. Lost the off hind plate in running.

Stewards questioned L. Tarrant as to his tactics, particularly his reasons for riding forward and holding a position in the lead when it appeared he had opportunity after passing the 1200m to steady to take up a midfield position. He advised stewards that whilst it had been his intention to ride the horse in a forward position, he initially felt that he would be able to settle behind the lead one off the fence outside THE OVERDRAFT, however, when UNCHARTERED and OMNIA MARKA TAYADA commenced to place pressure on his mount near the 1000m when not clear, he elected to push forward in order to rel

D. Browne reported to stewards that he was very disappointed with the horse’s overall performance and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer R. Heathcote advised that he would advise stewards of the outcome of veterinary tests he intends to have carried out on the horse.
