Jockey L. Tarrant expressed his disappointment with the performance of the horse. He added that his mount felt awkward in its action during the event and on pulling up. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer S. Kendrick agreed that the performance was disappointing and indicated to stewards he would have veterinary tests carried out, the results of which he would report to stewards.
