Change of tactics. Connections advised the horse would be ridden just off the speed. The horse subsequently settled behind the leaders. Rounding the home turn shifted out to secure clear running and made contact with another runner.

Refused to settle in the early stages and hung out from the approaching the 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be showing signs of a poor post-race recovery. Trainer S. Kendrick advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to its next race start.

Jockey M. Cahill stated at no stage did his mount feel comfortable in the rain affected conditions, and did not pick up and travel at any stage of the event and was very disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
