Fractious in the barriers and reared high prior to the start. On returning to the enclosure it was noted that the horse had blood in the offside nostril, and upon veterinary inspection was found to have a laceration in that nostril.

Overraced when the pace was only steady in the early stages. Forced wider near the 850m and raced 3 wide without cover from that point. Stewards spoke with trainer in regarding the horse’s performance. He indicated that when the horse overraced in the early stages he would have preferred jockey Fradd to allow the horse to stride forward to the lead as the horse has raced successfully when being permitted to lead when racing in New Zealand. He believed that being forced to race three wide and carrying 60kg had a detrimental effect on the horse’s overall performance. Vetted, no abnormalities.
