When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, jockey M. Cahill reported that his mount began awkwardly and lost ground and he was obliged to pressure the horse in the early stages in order to take up a position. He added he would have preferred to settle in more forward position, however after settling after passing the winning post on the first occasion he advised that when the horse travelled well enough until after leaving the 1000m he shifted out in an attempt to improve into the race and the gelding did not respond to his riding and weakened badly.
