Inconvenienced by another runner at the start and lost ground. Jockey L. Tarrant was questioned regarding the tactics adopted from leaving the 600m. He indicated after shifting off the fence to a position behind LEAPIN’ LENA, he was unable to shift any wider from that point as he would have caused interference to runners to his outside. He elected therefore near the 450m to shift back in an attempt to follow PRINCESS DEVINE when LEAPIN’ LENA had commenced to weaken.
