When asked to comment on the performance, jockey B. Grylls indicated that after being tightened for room at the start, the horse raced somewhat field shy and she was obliged to pressure her mount in order to remain in touch with the main body of the field, however finished the race off well.

A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened badly from the 600m and finished a distant last, revealed the gelding to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer M. Kropp was advised that the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination following a gallop, with the results to be forwarded to stewards, and that a veterinary clearance would also be required.
