When asked to comment on the overall performance jockey Cahill stated that he elected to allow SURPRISE BULLET to cross after passing the 1600m and when this horse was steadied he was obliged to restrain, forcing his mount further back in the field than he would have liked. He stated the performance was nevertheless disappointing as when asked for a response the filly did not quicken as anticipated and only finished the race off fairly.
