Stewards interviewed rider J. Bayliss regarding the horse’s finishing effort and his riding over the concluding stages. He indicated that the horse, after failing to respond to his riding in the early stages of the home straight, became awkward in its action and for this reason he did not ride the horse out over the final 200m. He added that in his opinion the horse did not handle the rain-affected conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a slow post-race recovery.
