Obliged to race in restricted room near the 700m and again inconvenienced by another runner approaching the 400m and forced wider on the track. Apprentice J. Murphy was asked to comment on the horse’s performance. He indicated that after travelling favourably in the early and middle stages the horse suffered interference on the home turn and failed to respond to his riding thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
