Trainer C. Wearne representing trainer P. Butterworth, was fined $100 for negligence in presenting the horse late to the enclosure after having been late to collect the jockey’s saddle. Jumped awkwardly and a short distance later was tightened for room and had to be checked. A post race veterinary examination of the horse which finished tailed off, revealed no abnormality. Connections were advised that the horse must officially trial prior to its next race start.
