Trainer J. Gregory was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Hung out for the majority of the event and progressively became worse, hanging out significantly from the 600m and took no competitive part over the final 400m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer J. Gregory was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for the horse and that it must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start.
