Henderson advised stewards he would have his own veterinary surgeon assess the horse and would report back to stewards in the coming days.

Gallagher reported his mount raced greenly throughout, felt awkward in its hind action, and also that his saddle slipped. A post race veterinary examination found the horse to have a poor post race recovery. Trainer R. Lipp indicated the horse would not be sent for a spell.
