Began awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey M. McGillivray was asked to comment on the performance of the filly. He indicated his mount began awkwardly and was unable to muster early pace despite his urgings. He then allowed the filly to settle for a short period at the 800m, however pressured it from that point and SPIRITUAL ROSE responded strongly and finished the race off well. He added stepping the filly up over longer distances would be beneficial, in his opinion.
