He stated at the horse’s most recent start he had removed the tongue-tie and, in his opinion, this resulted in an improved performance. He added that with this performance in mind he had expected a forward showing in today’s event.

Apprentice J. Murphy was asked to comment on the performance of the horse. He indicated he felt the horse was disappointing, however could offer no explanation for the performance. The stable indicated that the gelding would be unlikely to start on rain-affected tracks in light of today’s performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
