Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred near the 800m. It was found that ALPINE DANCER, whilst overracing, had galloped on GREGORY. As a result of this, GREGORY became very awkward and apprentice S. Thornton, rider of GREGORY, elected to restrain her mount from the event as she felt the horse had suffered an injury. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
