Rider explanation re tactics - instructed be positive on the horse but after pulling very hard early stages elected to press forward. Added after being caught three wide in middle stages was of the opinion REDSTONE, which was racing outside the leader, would progress forward and lead. When this did not eventuate obliged to race three wide for remainder. Further stated horse was dropping back in distance today and therefore allowed it to stride forward from 600m. Explanation noted.
