Slow to begin and shortly after the start attempted to buck, before racing greenly throughout, particularly under pressure in the home straight. Connections were advised that the horse must officially trial prior to racing again. Underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a minor laceration to the off foreleg.

Commenced to weaken from the 500m and then hung out under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer M. Currie reported that on return to scale the horse was showing signs it may have raced with its tongue over the bit, which may have had an effect on the horse’s breathing. He indicated he would experiment with the addition of a tongue-tie, and also have the horse perform in a jump-out prior to racing again. Stewards advised Mr Currie that a warning would be placed on the horse’s competitiveness.
