When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice S. Thornton stated that from the wide barrier it had been the intention to settle at the rear of the field. She stated, in her view, the horse did not handle the rain-affected conditions and was obliged to niggle the horse in the early stages in order to attempt to improve onto the back of the field. Apprentice Thornton added she attributed this to her mount being more suited to races over longer distances, adding that the horse was doing its best work over the concluding stages and would appreciate a step up in distance.
