When questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance of the mare which was heavily supported in betting, Trainer P Jenkins advised that mare had had always shown ability in its work and was able to win a maiden impressively during its previous preparation. He added that after winning its maiden mare had disappointed him at its next three starts and for that reason, he had spelled the mare.
