When asked to comment on the performance, jockey R. Maloney stated that after beginning well, he elected to steady from the wide barrier to take up a trailing position, however the gelding showed no early pace and he was obliged to apply pressure for the first 200m. He indicated that WHAT A WEEKEND travelled well from the 600m and as the gelding was doing its best work over the concluding stages, it would appreciate a step up in distance.$3.10
