Had difficulty obtaining clear run between 300m & 150m. When asked re tactics, Rdr explained after being caught wide early, was reluctant to shift out approaching h/turn as not travelling strongly enough to come wider, adding gelding is better ridden with cover. Said gelding has a tendency to lay in which would have made it difficult to come wider in early stages of home straight. Rdr told had erred in not coming to the outside of the heels at the entrance to home straight rather than the decision to shift back to the inside of that runner round home turn.
