When quest re tactics, particularly in early & middle stages when pace of race was strong, & decision to remain racing outside leader, Rdr said instructs were to lead if possible & to allow mare to begin to build momentum from 800m. Tnr confirmed instructs, adding gelding was racing in blks for 1st time & also over 1600m for 1st time. In noting 1st 1000m of race was run quickly, covered in 58.75 seconds, Rdr advised had erred in not attempting to take a sit early when there was opportunity to do so, however in all circumstances no action taken. Post race vet revealed no abs.

Vetted at gates. Jumped out abruptly at start. When asked re tactics, Rdr advised instructed to be in a forward position, however after obtaining lead early, gelding raced keenly in early and middle stages when pressured by another runner to its immediate outside-added was reluctant to overly restrain gelding as it can race very keenly if overly restrained. Tnr confirmed instructs, adding intention to remove blinkers. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs.
