Slow to begin. On returning to scale jockey Bradley Appo reported that after being slow to begin the horse failed to respond to his urgings to improve its position and was reluctant to stretch out, resulting in the horse trailing the field throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R. Smith advised that the horse has a history of hoof issues, which she believed may have been a contributing factor in the horse’s poor performance tonight.
