Prior to the race, Trainer B. Currie reported to Stewards that the filly, which was first up from a lengthy spell today, sustained a pelvic injury following its last start. Trainer B. Currie later advised that whilst, on face value, the performance of the filly was disappointing in tonight’s event, as the horse was resuming off a 13 month spell it will derive a significant fitness benefit from tonight’s event, and he is hopeful of an improved performance at its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
