When questioned by Stewards regarding the seemingly improved performance of the gelding, Trainer B. Currie reported that prior to the horses first start, it trialled well in that it was beaten less than two lengths whilst wearing steel shoes. He added that at Ipswich the horse was tightened for room at the start and lost ground and, as a result, settled further back in the field than anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly, which tailed off during the event, revealed the horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer S. Kirkwood was advised that prior to racing again the filly will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards, and subsequently produce a veterinary certificate for the filly, including the results of an ECG.
