Jockey N. Tomizawa reported that he had intended to ride his mount with cover, however as WICKED TRILOGY shifted away from the fence leaving the 1300m it placed RHIATTEN ROAD in a 3 wide position, and at that point N. Tomizawa allowed his mount to stride forward to settle outside the leader. N. Tomizawa added that his mount travelled well from that point, however it was unable to sprint under its allotted 58 kilograms. He also stated that, in his opinion, the horse is not a good weight carrier.

Reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Raced fiercely approaching the 1200m and, as a result, shifted out to a 3 wide position for a short distance. Trainer P. Cartledge explained that, in her opinion, the horse’s pre-race behaviour was a major contributing factor to the horse’s disappointing performance. She added that the gelding was some 6 weeks between runs, and it will therefore take a benefit from this race.
