Slow to begin. Momentarily steadied approaching the 900m when racing to the inside of BUBBA ROCKER. Apprentice R. Ride reported that her mount was reluctant to stretch out for the majority and, for that reason, she desisted from riding the gelding out over the concluding stages. Stable representative, Mr. S. Clarke, was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance as the gelding had been working well in preparation for today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
