Dwelt as the start was effected and lost ground. Jockey E. Ljung reported that her mount began only fairly and travelled comfortably throughout the run, however when placed under pressure from the 500m the mare ran on only fairly. Trainer K. Kemp advised that, in his opinion, the mare may have failed to run out the 1640m of this race, and he will now consider dropping the horse back in distance for its future starts.

Trainer P. Sexton advised that it would be the intention for the filly to be ridden more forward today if circumstances permit. The filly settled in the second half of the field. Raced fiercely for some distance in the early and middle stages, and proved difficult to restrain. Stewards questioned jockey J. Oliver regarding the tactics adopted. Refer full report.
