Began awkwardly. Jockey Beau Appo reported that his mount overraced significantly in the early stages which placed him at a disadvantage. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which commenced to weaken from the 400m, revealed no significant abnormalities at the time of examination. A swab sample was taken from the gelding. Stable representative M. Currie was advised that the gelding must compete in an official barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next start.
