Raced wide without cover throughout. Jockey J. Oliver could offer no explanation for the seemingly disappointing performance of the mare which he advised did not feel entirely comfortable in its action on returning to scale. Trainer M. Currie could also offer no explanation for the poor performance other than that the mare was forced to race wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no apparent abnormalities.
