After initially racing in a 3 wide position, the gelding was forced wider on the track by another runner near the 900m, and then when unable to be restrained by its rider to a position closer to the rail, was forced to race 4 wide without cover for the remainder. Forced wider on the track rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened over the concluding stages, revealed no apparent abnormalities.
