Began awkwardly and lost ground. Improved onto heels approaching the 700m and lost ground. Shifted out abruptly after improving onto the heels of another runner passing the 600m. Commenced to yield ground from the 400m and finished tailed off. Jockey G. Geran advised that the gelding felt short in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in its off hind leg. Trainer E. Hayes was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing.
